Here's Apple's latest blueprint reveals how their foldable phone might look like

We know Apple is working on folding iPhone and Apple already published a patent back in 2018 on this.

That is, until today when The Verge spotted a blueprint of their phone which was published last week.

The patent states that the display will consist of hinges that can fold in half. It also states that in theory, the display could be used for other devices like tablets, laptops, wearables, and mobile accessories.

“It would be desirable to be able to use flexible display technology to provide improved electronic devices,” Apple writes in their patent.

The surfacing of this patent is probably in response to Samsung finally unveiling their foldable phone called Galaxy Fold. A device that can be folded in half and has a secondary display on the cover.

In addition to that, Huawei also announced that they will be releasing their own rendition of a foldable phone during Mobile World Congress 2019 which is taking place in Barcelona on February 24.

LetsGoDigital took it into their own hands and created a render of what the phone might look like based on the concept blueprint:

However, just like all patent applications, it's still unsure if this phone might actually see the light of day.

CNBC, on the other hand, reported that the company might launch the phone somewhere in 2020 and will be sold as a phone-tablet hybrid.
