So we are finally getting news about the Huawei's Harmony OS powered devices. As you know about the ongoing US-China trade war, Chinese tech giant Huawei is under sanctions of the US government and can't use Google services in their upcoming devices and the company is looking at alternatives in case Google ever decides to permanently pull services and support for Huawei devices.
Recently Huawei has already introduced its own operating system called Harmony OS, which is supposed to be a replacement for Google's Android. The Huawei's Harmony OS is currently running on TVs, wearables, smart accessories etc, but now it seems that Huawei has planned to launch Harmony OS powered smartphones as well.
According to recent reports, Huawei could start booting Harmony OS alongside with Android in its existing devices with Dual Boot system. This means that Harmony and Android will run side by side on the same device which will be much fun and the experience of two operating systems at the same time.
As of now, we don't have official information about which devices will be powered in this manner first, but according to Huawei's CEO, the P40 series will boot Harmony OS.
If this idea becomes a reality, the performance and compatibility of these Dual Boot smartphones will be the key factors for deciding whether these Huawei devices are worth buying or not.
The main underlying problem would still be the absence of Google Apps and Sevices on smartphones which is the major selling point for most and almost everyone using Google services so the phone without Google services are haven't worth at least for me.
It remains to be seen how Huawei will tackle this obstacle for their future devices and the decision definitely will impact their business growth or is it a bad idea! So let's see.
