What is Computer?

What is Computer

Computers are tools used to process data according to procedures that have been formulated. The original computer word is used to describe the person whose work is doing arithmetic calculations, with or without tools, but the meaning of this word is then transferred to the machine itself.

1. Computers are a useful industrial product.

Computers that we know today are the result of the development of electronic and informatics technology so that the form of computers that are originally large and eat places, are now small in shape with great capabilities.

The benefits of computers today are quite diverse starting as a tool to write, draw, edit photos, play videos, play songs to analyze research data and to operate programs to solve scientific, industrial and business problems.

2. HOW TO WORK COMPUTER

memory is a numbered sequence of bytes (such as "cells" or "pigeon holes"), each containing a small piece of information. This information might be a command to tell the computer what to do. Cells may contain data that the computer needs to do a command.

3. Computer parts

The computer consists of 2 major parts, namely software (software) and hardware (hardware).
Hardware

Processor or CPU as a unit that processes data
RAM memory, a place to store temporary data
Hard drive, semi-permanent storage media
Input devices, media used to enter data for processing by UPS, such as mouse, keyboard, and tablet
Output device, media used to display CPU processing output, such as monitors, speakers, plotter, projector and printer

Software

Operating system

Basic program on computers that connects users to computer hardware. The commonly used operating systems are Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. Operating system tasks include (but not only) managing program execution on top of it, coordinating input, output, processing, memory, and software installation.
Computer program
An additional application that is installed in accordance with the operating system

Slot on the computer

  • ISA / PCI, slot for additional non-graphic card input
  • AGP / PCIe, a slot for adding graphic graphics cards
  • IDE / SCSI / SATA, slot for hard drive / ODD
  • USB, a slot for plug-and-play media input (plug and play, meaning the device can be connected to the computer and can be used immediately).
